Brief description
Ni-Superalloy
Keywords
creep Link to MATTER Glossary entry for creep, nickel, single crystal
Categories
Metal or alloy
System
Ni-X
Composition
Ni, Al, Re, W, Ta, Cr, Co, Ru (Ni-Superalloy)
Standard codes
Reaction
Processing
Solution heat treated, creep test
Applications
The material is in single crystal form for turbine blade application, the operation temperature could easily reach above 1200°C during flight cycles. So, the alloy needs to have good high temperature creep resistance and microstructural stability.
Sample preparation
Standard TEM preparation procedure
Technique
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)
Length bar
200 nm
Further information
(TBBF) two-beam condition was set near <001> to observe the dislocation structure in the crept Ni-base superalloy.
