Supermalloy is a
magnetically soft material

It has a high magnetic permeability and low
coercivity.

Supermalloy is used in the
manufacturing of components
of radio engineering, telephony,
and telemechanics instruments.
Molybdenum permalloy is a soft
magnet
.

It is an alloy of 81% nickel,
17% iron and 2% molybdenum
and was invented at Bell Labs
in 1940. It provides improved
inductive compensation of
capacitive reactance in long
distance telephone lines.
Alcomax II is a hard magnet.

It has a very good temperature
coefficient compared with other
permanent magnets therefore
making it an ideal choice when
a temperature range is required.

The principle applications are for triggering
of proximity switches (reeds and hall sensors),
horseshoe design permanent magnets for lifting, and
entry door locks.
