- Brief description
- Phase transformation when an isotropic liquid changes to a nematic liquid crystal (magnification 20x, speed 3x). As the temperature decreases the coloured liquid crystalline phase begins to nucleate at various random points across the slide. Darker regions are visible where the director is aligned with either the polariser or the analyser. From TLP: Liquid Crystals
