At high T, Nitinol has a primitive cubic crystal structure (B2, or the CsCl structure). This is the austenite "parent" phase, and the blue lines show the cubic unit cell. However, to visualise the transformation, it is more useful to define a tetragonal unit cell, which is shown in red.
