Evolution of deformation microstructure
Rolling
The rolling procedure gives a very specific microstructure.
The microstructure of this side is relatively unchanged.
These two sides have an elongated grain structure, due
to the rolling.
Stamping
At these positions, the microstructure is deformed the
most, and this is seen in thin samples which have been stamped out.
Cutting
The microstructure is deformed as the sample is cut. It
is deformed non-uniformly.
