The background here is pearlite again. The solid-to-solid transformation from austenite to ferrite and cementite results in the phases growing in fine lamellae structures.

Remember, contrast of the lines is due to the etchant attacking the grain boundaries of the pearlite. This means the relative proportions of the two phases are difficult to estimate.
