Exercise: 1. Before deformation
Cadmium single crystal before deformation. The crystals are grown with random crystallographic orientations, so the Miller indices of the tensile axis are not known. The initial length of the crystal was l0 = 18 mm, and the tensile axis lies along the long axis of the cylinder.
