- Further information
- A cast alloy of high zinc brass, consisting of b dendrites. The a precipitates out of solution at the crystal boundaries, forming a structure of b dendrites surrounded by a. This is known as a Widmanstätten structure because a geometrical pattern of a forms on certain crystallographic orientations of the b lattice.
